Body Acnes are a much less talked about problem, probably because no one straightway notices it. But it is just as bad. People who have facial acne are more likely to get body acne. Acne is caused when skin pores get clogged by the dirt, oil and dead skin. Hence, we can find acnes anywhere on our body especially chest, neck and back. It is more challenging to get rid of body acnes than facial acne because the skin of the body is thicker and the pores are wider and hence, it is easier for them to get clogged. Moreover, these areas of your body are often clothed meaning they remain in constant contact with oils they produce. There are a host of solutions to this problem. The most effective ones are listed below
Maintaining good hygiene
A bad hygiene will cause the outbreaks, but a good hygiene may or may not prevent the outbreaks. Take daily showers, use good quality body wash and scrub every part of your body, even the difficult-to-reach ones. Use a soft loofah to scrub and exfoliate the pores of your body once or twice a week. Take extra precaution in storing your loofah in a clean place afterwards. Also, use only soft loofah as using a grainy scrub as it may irritate the already troubled skin and worsen the situation.
Avoid Stress and Eat Healthy
A stressful life can lead to the outbreaks of acne not only on body as well as on face. Practice yoga to calm your mind and live a stress free life.
Another habit that will do lot more than just curing the body acnes is consuming a healthy and balanced diet. Incorporating healthy and light foods such as fruits and green vegetables and avoiding carbonated drinks and having a gluten-free diet will not only benefit you in fighting acnes but will also give you a glowing and healthy skin. Drinking more water would also help prevent acnes.
To start off with, use a body wash that doesn’t clog your skin pores and have acne fighting substances such as salicylic acid and benzoyl chloride. This can be followed by moisturizing your skin with a lotion containing alpha hydroxyl acid. It will exfoliate and moisturize your skin.
Another product that can help cure and prevent body acnes is the medicated pad. Swipe the pad over the affected areas to open the pores. Using this product after a workout or after you have sweat a lot would prevent the outbreaks of acnes.
Baking Soda Paste
This is probably the best non-dermatological method for removing body acnes for people with sensitive skin, because the paste doesn’t burn at all. Add water to the Baking Soda so that it turns into a thick paste. Now apply it onto the acnes. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes, until the paste has dried off. Take some cool water and rinse off the paste. Repetition of the paste several times a day is recommended for astonishing acne curing effect.
These are some methods that one can follow to get rid of body acnes but as they say prevention is better than cure, you’d be better advised to eat healthy, exercise, maintain a good hygiene and try to lead a stress-free life as much as possible.
