Stretch marks are badges of transition with an off colour hue on the skin. They are mainly found in the abdominal wall, buttocks and breasts. The main cause of this is pregnancy but it can also occur due to stress, weight loss and hereditary factors. Stretch marks do not pose any health risk but is a cosmetic displeasure. It can be gravely annoying to have your skin show such marks, but you need not worry because there are several ways in which you can get rid of them.
- Using Foods: Rubbing egg whites on the belly can help reduce these marks. The protein in the egg whites is good for your skin and by rubbing it thrice a week will help you get rid of stretch marks at a faster pace. Potatoes are another ingredient whose juices is full of vitamins and minerals that can restore the skin cells. You just have cut the potatoes into thick slices and rub them across the marks. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with warm water. Olive oil is full of vitamin E and is good for your skin too. The more concentrated, the better. It will help your skin become softer which in turn expands easily. Castor oil does the same!
- Using juices and lotions: If the stretch marks are new, then tretinoin cream will make wonders in building collagen. But if you are pregnant, then you should not use this cream because of there might be harmful effects on the foetus. Another natural ingredient that can help reduce freckles is lemon juice. It is a natural bleaching agent which when rubbed on the affected area and left for 10 minutes will help fade the marks easily. You can notice these changes if you do this several times a day. Hydrating agents such as shea and cocoa butter can also increase smoothness and bolster skin regeneration. When used a couple of times a day, it will prevent new ones from forming. Aloe vera is another natural agent that will get rid of stretch marks fast. It is safe for anybody and is nature’s super healer. You can mix vitamin E, vitamin A and aloe vera gel and rub it on your skin till it is absorbed. Raw aloe vera will leave a residue after drying. You just have to wipe it off with lukewarm water.
There are several products available in the market that promises fast results in removing stretch marks. However, be wary of them because it is only with utter diligence and sheer luck that they might work for you. Sometimes, they may even have retin-A and glycolic acid which may be harmful for your skin. Hence, it’s always better that you check with the doctor before digging into your pocket.
Stretch marks will take time to fade and patience is the key. Unless these are not used several times a day, there are slight chances of providing results. Hence, be diligent and love your body!
